THE PORTRAIT OF A STRONG WOMAN FOR SEEKING TREASURES AS REFLECTED IN STEVE BERRY’S “THE AMBER ROOM”: A FEMINIST STUDY

ABSTRACT

The title of the study is The portrait of a strong woman for seeking treasure as reflected in Steve Berry’s The Amber Room: a feminist study. This study Describes the portrait of a strong woman Rachel Cutler as the central character, the protagonist, or the hero (heroine) who has efforts for seeking treasures while investigating the case behind the amber room. And the readers can adopt the moral values what happen in the novel.

This research is grouped into a library research. The subject of the research is the novel The Amber Room. The data of the research are gathered trough observation and documentation. Finally, they are analyzed by using the socialist feminist proposed by Juliet Mitchell’s theory.

The result of the research shows that the characterization of the main character, are brave, smart, pride, stubborn, sharp tongue, aggressive. The efforts of a strong woman for seeking treasures are being determined, being motivated, being self esteem, being optimistic, being struggles, being heroes. And The moral values in the novel is independent, helping other, forgiving, friendship when she is seeking treasures.
